Sympathy Thank-You Note Generator
After a loss, a thank-you note only has to say that a kindness was received and felt. Enter the person, the flowers or meal or help they gave, and one line about what it meant, and the generator writes a short, gentle note.
You can share the list with a family member, and anyone can sign from the family. A note sent a month or two later is still welcome.
The generator needs JavaScript. The finished examples on our Funeral Thank-You Cards: Wording and Sympathy Notes page work just as well as a starting point.
Tips for your sympathy thank-you note
- Two or three sentences is enough. No one expects a long letter from a grieving family.
- Notes go to people who sent flowers, food or donations, traveled, spoke, or helped. A signed card alone needs no reply.
- Printed acknowledgment cards are fine for a long list; add one handwritten line where you can.
